Review charter
Every review on FULL BLEED says who paid for it. The clauses below are an excerpt from the agreement between the client and FULL BLEED, published here so readers can see what a review cost, who paid, and what that payment bought.
§1 The commission
Clients can commission a review of a book. The commission is placed with FULL BLEED and paid to FULL BLEED.
§2 The reviewer
FULL BLEED chooses the reviewer. The client does not choose the reviewer, and the reviewer is not paid by the client.
§3 Editorial freedom
The reviewer has full editorial freedom. The client does not read the review before it is published and cannot change it or withdraw it.
§4 Commissioned reviews
Authors and publishers can commission a review. They pay FULL BLEED, not the reviewer. We choose the reviewer, the reviewer has full editorial freedom, and the review is published whatever its verdict. Every commissioned review carries the label “Commissioned review” at the top and bottom of the page and wherever it is shown.
§5 Publication
The review is published whatever its verdict, on the same terms as any other review on the site.
§6 Editorial picks
Editorial picks are reviews nobody paid for. They carry the label “Editorial pick”.
The clauses above are the part of the agreement that affects readers. Wording still to be checked before launch.
